If you want to learn Dutch and you are not obligated to integrate, this course is for you. It covers learning Dutch, reading, writing, comprehension, and speaking. There are courses available for beginners and advanced learners.

A course for anyone who:

  • Wants to learn Dutch;
  • Wants to improve their Dutch language skills;
  • Wants to prepare for the State Examination NT2 (Dutch as a second language).

The course program is designed to teach you the Dutch language as effectively as possible. There is a strong focus on the fundamentals of the language, including reading, listening, writing, speaking, vocabulary, and grammar. We use recognized teaching methods for the following proficiency levels: 0-A1, A1-A2, A2-B1, and B1-B2.

There are separate groups for learners who need to become literate in Dutch. We work towards the levels of Alfa A, Alfa B, and Alfa C.

Once we receive your registration, we will schedule an intake interview to assess your Dutch language proficiency level. You will take several tests to determine your language proficiency level. During the interview you will receive advice on the most suitable course for you based on the results.

You will be taught two half-days a week. The duration of the lessons will depend on your preferences, learning goals, and the agreements made during the intake assessment.

During the course, you will complete assignments and assessments. Upon completion of the course, you will receive a certificate of participation along with your test results.

During the course you will be prepared for the state exam. If you pass the state exam, you will receive a recognized diploma.

The cost for the Dutch as a second language course is €15 per lesson/hour, excluding study materials. The total cost of the course will depend on its duration.

If you are a resident of the municipalities of Breda, Zundert, Oosterhout, Made, Geertruidenberg, Etten-Leur, Moerdijk, Roosendaal, Halderberge, Rucphen, Steenbergen, Bergen op Zoom, or Woensdrecht, a significant part of the course fee will be covered by the municipality (excluding the B1-B2 course).

You can start at any time depending on the number of applications. This can be in a new group or an existing group. Sometimes there might be a waiting period depending on your choices and preferences.
